Is it legal to install a fuel tank in a travel trailer or 5th wheel for use with an onboard generator set?

The fuel tank is a legal gas transfer tank. It’s the kind that you can install in the bed of a pickup truck, to transfer gasoline. The trailer will not have the generator running when it’s being towed.
