Is it legal to install an electric stove in a basement?

I live in Virginia and I am currently having my basement finished. I want to install an electric stove in my walkout basement, does anyone know if it is legal?

   You’d have to check with your town. Most municipalities require a variance or permit for a finished basement. I’ve seen basements with stoves in them before. Your town may have certain regulations regarding stoves, ie, whether it’s gas or electric, etc.

   only if it’s a finished basement meaning insulated
