I live in Florida. I got a DUI last spring (April). My attorney is trying to get me out of it, and personally I think, why should he? I was driving under the influence.
This whole thing still hasn’t blown over. What should I do, give me some advice.
I never drink and drive, it was just that one time and of course I got caught.

Can a car be registered in a LLC when the company is in a different state then your residence?

We presently live in NC. We have an investment company under a LLC in PA. We need to buy a vehicle for the company. But we don’t want to register it here in NC, because they tax cars every year. Where PA is once, when you make the purchase.

From a tax standpoint, should I choose an LLC or Sole Proprietorship for the following business?

a link to the past asked:

I’m looking to start a computer service business in South Carolina, and I’m on the fence between choosing an LLC vs. a Sole Proprietorship. What would be best from a tax standpoint?

I’ll initially be working for myself but might eventually hire employees.

This business will be my only source of income, and the main expenses will be advertising (~$2,000 - $10,000) and software purchases ($1,000). The business should bring in about $50k gross the first year.

I will initially be working with home computer owners, although I would like to expand to service other businesses once the company has gained a reputation.

If I’m leaving out important details, please ask and I’ll add them.

Thanks!

Is there a difference between a DUI and a DWI besides semantics?

Atlas asked:

I just read a question where someone mentioned being charged with a DWI, and I haven’t really heard of that before. I’m assuming it’s Driving While Impaired? Does it carry the same penalties as a DUI? (Driving Under Influence)

Also, when you get charged with something like that, is your school or work place notified, even if you live in a major metropolitan city? I’m asking only out of curiosity, not because this is something I’m dealing with.
