If you paid with a credit card, your best bet is to call your credit card company and cancel the order. If you haven't received the merchandise, they will essentially force the retailer to refund your order.

Read your contract. If there is nothing in writing that states delivery on or before a certain date, you are probably out of luck. When they give a range, say 4 to 6 weeks, it opens up the door for delays, because they are not guaranteeing 4 to 6 weeks, they are stating that the average amount of time is 4 to 6 weeks. You probably could ask for your money back if it stretches to twice that maximum. In other words, if you don't see furniture by the 12th week, then demand a refund. It's important th remember that the guy who is selling you the furniture is out to make the sale, so he will say things that may be borderline, like the 4 to 6 week delivery time. From now on, if you can't lock them down to a specific time frame, you need to remember that the 4 to 6 week statement is ambiguous and, just like when you buy a car, if it ain't in the paperwork, it don't mean anything. Sorry.

Well, you can make a formal complaint, and if you no longer want the furniture you ordered you do not have to accept it when they turn up. You have the right to a full re-fund. You made a legal contract with them:by you ordering and paying for the furniture they were suppose to keep their side of the agreement and deliver it by the date promised. They have breached the contract and you can make a formal complaint.
