Miguel L asked:
This is for a medium length story I’m writing. In one part the character’s lawyer manages to get the surveillance footage needed, but I don’t know how to write about it. Does the lawyer do it by supbeana? What does that look like in NY?

The lawyer will file a motion for discovery with the court if the tape is related to a case, if not then a subpoena would be the only other method, a description of it would be difficult to explain but it would have to contain sufficient info to identify the tape requested and a specific place for viewing the tape.~

The lawyer will summon his dark lord to rise up from the depths of hell and seize the surveillance tape with his wretched grasp, destroying all eternal souls that may try to thwart him.
